摘要
Elliptical core optical fibres are a fundamental kind of a large family of non-cylindrical core optical fibres because of their natural, geometrical, linear birefringence. The basic demand in such applications is to maintain the state of polarization, through proper separation of propagation constants between both polarization states of the fundamental mode. The separation assumes that both components of orthogonal polarizations do not mix. Two methods of elliptical fibres manufacturing has been presented.
