An equivalent circuit model for large numbers of bonding wires

摘要
A modeling procedure is developed to generate a pi-type equivalent circuit for large numbers of bonding wires at frequencies of 0.04-6 GHz. Elements in the equivalent circuit are obtained by employing a curve-fitting technique together with Newton's iteration method to fit the equivalent circuit's series impedance and shunt admittance responses obtained from transforming the S-parameters computed by the HFSS software. This equivalent circuit with series impedance and shunt admittance is capable of accounting for frequency and wire number From comparisons, it is found that the series impedance and shunt admittance responses calculated by the curve-fitting technique make a good agreement with those obtained from the HFSS software.
