The state-of-the-art of the statistical theory of antenna arrays

In the paper, there are briefly set forth foundations of the theory of antenna arrays with randomness in excitation and position of radiators. Main attention is paid to problems of the analysis of statistical characteristics of similar arrays in the far zone. The theory generalization to the Fresnel zone both for equidistant and nonequidistant arrays is given Along with problems of the analysis (direct problems), the inverse problems - the problems of the statistical synthesis of antenna arrays are considered. The review, in general, is based on the works of authors. The most important literature characterizing the state-of-the-art of the statistical theory of antenna arrays is indicated.
