摘要
Members of a family with Romanian origin, called Marcolesco, play a significant role in the history of photography in Bulgaria from the end of 19th and the beginning of 20th. The first generation of photographers in this family is related to the brothers from Tulcea Jon and Onorio, who moved to Bulgaria in 1878. Jon worked quite briefly in Gabrovo and then his traces are lost, while the other brother is better known. Onorio Marcolesco had a long and successful career in Tarnovo (1878-1902) and Varna (1903-1917). The next generation of photographers in the family is represented by two sisters - Janna and Charlotte. They are daughters of Onorio Marcolesco. Janna settled and worked in Sliven (1889-1903). Charlotte had a photo studio in Sofia - atelier Rembrandt (circa 1900-1913). The article presents and discusses the work of Marcolesco family through their photographs in the photographic collection of the Bulgarian Historical Archive of the National Library Sts. Cyril and Methodius in Sofia.
