Many studies are now looking at the genetics of a variety of asthmatic and atopic phenotypes using these new methods. However, they have given contradictory results and as of yet, there have been few triumphs. Nonetheless, it appears that we will soon have the information which will not only give us a ''blueprint'' of the causation and pathophysiology of these conditions, but will also guide our treatment which ultimately may be the correcting of the errant DNA of asthma and allergies.
