A microfluidic-based nanoscope has been developed to measure shapes of walls in microfluidic devices. The nanoscope is an extension of micro-resolution particle image velocimetry (mu -PIV). The nanoscope is shown to measure wall position of a glass microchannel with a root mean square uncertainty of similar to 57 nm. Numerical simulations show that noise in the velocity measurements contributes significantly to uncertainty in wall position.
