The taxonomy of Hydrotaea Robineau-Desvoidy (Diptera: Muscidae) from China is treated, including descriptions of three new species, viz. Hydrotaea bistoichas, sp. nov., H. fimbripeda, sp. nov. and H. compositispina, sp. nov. A key to the Chinese species of Hydrotaea is given. The type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Entomology, Shenyang Normal University, Shenyang, P. R. China.
