摘要
The influence of hypergenic transformation of silicate material on the chemical composition of the "granite" layer in the continental crust is discussed on the basis of data on its composition and structure. A relationship is established between the spreading of the first phytocenoses along with the beginning of soil formation and the accumulation of huge masses of kaolinite minerals being final products of silicate hypergenesis. It is shown that the epochs of weathering and soil formation that last for millions of years are confined to certain stages in global geotectonic cycles.
