摘要
Recently, Distributed Video Coding (DVC) has been actively studied as a solution to the growing demands on light video encoder. However, DVC shifts the complexity from the encoder to the decoder side, and in some applications it needs unacceptably long decoding time and/or big computing power. In this paper, we propose a Wyner-Ziv (WZ) video coding which extracts fast moving regions called Region-Of-Interest (ROI) and compresses them with a Low-Density Parity-Check Accumulate (LDPCA) code. By encoding only ROI, on the one hand, we can have significant complexity reduction both in the decoder and encoder. On the other hand, we can achieve better video compression performance. We confirm our claims by comparing Rate-Distortion (RD) performance of the proposed scheme with that of DISCOVER. Our experiments show that the proposed scheme outperforms DISCOVER by PSNRs of 1.87dB and 0.46dB for Salesman and Mother sequences, respectively.
