摘要
This paper presents the design of a compact, low profile ultra-wideband antenna. The proposed antenna consists of a simple rectangular shape placed at a distance h = 10 mm in front of a frequency selective surface. The antenna has a reflection coefficient lower than 10 dB from 3.4 to 11.3 GHz, and a maximum gain of 7.29 dBi at 5 GHz where the gain is increased by 5 dBi over the antenna without FSS. The overall size of the design is 50 mm x 45 mm x 10 mm. Measured results show good agreement with simulated ones.
