Research into the effective re-use of concrete waste

The disposal of construction waste material that is designated as industrial wastes, is causing major social problems such as noise and dust, in urban areas. Also, supplies of fine aggregates for use in highway construction, particularly river sand, are becoming exhausted, and the procurement of good quality aggregates has become difficult. This research was carried out to determine to what extent a particular construction waste material, namely, concrete waste, could be re-used as an aggregate substitute in concrete mixtures, or for the base course or subgrade of highways.
