摘要
Mobile Ad Hoc network consists of short- lived collection of heterogeneous resource constrained nodes. Load balancing can optimally utilize the resources of the nodes, and hence, maximize throughput and network lifetime, while minimizing response time and avoiding overload on any single resource. Consequently, in this paper, we propose a load balancing scheme by exploiting mobile agents. A mobile agent is a program that can migrate from one environment to another autonomously and get executed in the new environment. Agents due to its inherently distributed nature are more suited to MANET as the host (that spawns the agents) need not be connected while the agent is accomplishing its task. Thus, compared to message passing, mobile agents can be better utilized to MANET applications. The proposed scheme is found to be robust against modification attacks on the mobile agents. This scheme is implemented using Aglet platform. The results show the robustness of the scheme.
