摘要
English idioms are an important pragmatic phenomenon, which directly affect the learners' cross-cultural communication appropriately. Based on conceptual metaphor theory, this paper presents an experimental study, the results of which show that metaphorical motivation can facilitate the understanding of idioms for non-native English learners and provide a new perspective for teaching of idioms, which improves the learning of English idioms.
