摘要：

Wire-EDM is a special kind of electrical discharge machining where a continuous renewed wire is used as a tool electrode. The paper describes the development of a new kind of additive which is applied on the EDM-wire by a special application system. In combination with a dielectric liquid based on synthetic hydrocarbons it does not cause corrosion problems, but reduces the thermal influenced layer and enables a high cutting speed and performance. The additive accelerates the electrical breakdown and enables more effective discharges causing a higher machining speed.
