摘要
The rate adaptation scheme refers to the adaptation of the client's transmission mode with the goal of selecting the optimal transmission mode that will give the maximum performance for the given wireless channel conditions. However, the rate adaptation scheme introduces a performance anomaly problem which degrades the channel utilization of the WLAN system. In this paper, we propose a new time-based fairness scheme to resolve the performance anomaly problem in multi-rate WLAN environments. The proposed scheme transmits consecutive data frames based on the selected transmission mode. Therefore, it can improve the wireless channel utilization efficiently compared to the previous time-based fairness schemes.
