An inverse eigenvalue problem for periodic Jacobi matrices

摘要：
In this paper, the spectral properties of periodic Jacobi matrices are presented. We study an inverse problem for periodic Jacobi matrices, and obtain a necessary and sufficient condition under which this problem is solvable. Our condition is equivalent to the condition of Xu S F (1998 An Introduction to Inverse Algebraic Eigenvalue Problems (Beijing/Braunschweig: Peking University Press/Vieweg)). A new algorithm for constructing all possible solutions is presented. The number and the relationship of solutions are also discussed.
