摘要：
The paper deals with the internationalization of the renminbi (RMB) and its position in international trade and financial markets. By joining the WTO, China agreed to realize fundamental reforms in foreign exchange and monetary field. These reforms were based on the abolition of certain restrictions and fulfilment of the conditions for RMB to become a freely convertible currency.
