摘要
In this pathological study 40 preparations of extracted teeth and 17 jaw preparations are analysed by histological and histochemical means to gain further knowledge about morphology and pathogenesis of "Feline odontoclastic resorptive lesions" (FORL). The results of pathologic-anatomical and patho-histological examinations show the "Feline odontoclastic resorptive lesions" (FORL) as an inflammatory disease of the parodontium. which spreads to the surrounding tissues. The inflammation affects large parts of the surface of the tooth and is characterized by resorptive and reparative phases. The developement of the disease can be devided into resorption, transformation, formation of osteoid and ossification. The given hypothesis for a complete pathogenesis is up for discussion. The results of former reports about histological findings match with the assumed pathogenesis. The character and the pathogenesis of the resorptive lesions prove that a restorative therapy of this disease has to fail in general. It is almost impossible to recognize exactly the state of the disease with todays examination means and methodes and to remove it completely by preparing the cavity. These facts make the insufficient restorative therapy attempts apparent.
