摘要
The effects of grain size on the superplastic tensile properties of Ti-55 titanium alloy were investigated. Ultrafme grain structure (less than lnm) was obtained by hydrogen treatment consisting of hydrogen absorption and desorption. Coarse grain microstructure (about 20nm) was acquired through vacuum heating at 950 C for 4h. When Ti-55 alloy specimens were tested with initial strain rate of 10 3s1 at 850 C, the elongation reaches 157.5%, 555.0% and 720.0% for coarse-grained, as-received (about 5nm to 1 Onm) and ultrafme-grained alloy, respectively. The higher elongation in the specimen with less grain size results from more grain boundary area and higher proportion of extremely deformable 13 phase. (C) 2017 The Authors.
