Endocrinology: Sugar diabetes

In cats and dogs, some diabetes, a minority, are typically of type I or II. However the classification of canine diabetes remains vague, since most forms start off non insulin dependent then become insulin dependent. These forms, following the example of the disease in humans, could correspond to two different cases, type II diabetes, with secondary exhaustion of insulin secreting cells, and type I diabetes evolving slowly.
