摘要
Since the early 1970s, asphalt pavement recycling has become a key component of the paving industry in the world. Although the highway and road network in Hong Kong is very extensive, about 100 kilometers of strategic roads will be added to the transport system over the next 10 years in order to meet the increasing traffic demand and to provide early relief to the existing road system. With the development in the past several decades, it is difficult to obtain good and sufficient road-paving materials. Government withes more RAP material to be used in the road construction and maintenance. This paper introduces historical perspective and recent researches of RAP recycling and foamed bitumen. Shortcoming of research and application of RAP and foamed bitumen is stated. The aim of study on cold in-situ recycled RAP in Hong Kong is explained, and the methodology of the research is analyzed and presented. This research is compatible with environmental policy.
