A Novel Power Control Scheme for Femtocell in Heterogeneous Networks

摘要
Heterogeneous networks (Het Nets) can provide a significant performance leap while cross-tier interference will become serious in Het Nets. This paper focuses on solutions to the enhanced inter-cell interference coordination (eICIC) through adaptive power control. Four observations are concluded through the analysis of a typical interference case. A novel power control scheme without additional signalling exchange is proposed for femtocell. The remarkable performance is confirmed via system level simulation for the metrics of outage probability (OP) and energy efficiency (EE). The result shows that the novel power control scheme reducing the OP of macro cell UE (MUE) and femto cell UE (HUE) can improve the HUE throughput and maintain the highest EE from the view of system.
