On Internationalization Concept of University Education in China

A right and correct concept of internationalization is needed since university education is usually seen as a basis for development of a country, which aims to cultivate modernization-oriented, high-quality, socialist talents with Chinese characteristics and the insight into the world and the future. The basic object is Chinese characteristics, which serve the construction and realization of socialism with Chinese characteristics. In order to set up an internationalization concept in education, we are supposed to mainly rely on ourselves, widely learn from others and form our own characteristics. We should insist on unification of form and content, that of tradition and development and that of absorption and criticism, so as to move forward and realize dialectic development. We must oppose total acceptation of westernization and egoism. The above principles must be observed to promote realization of basic goals, and proper measures should be taken. First, we should insist on learning advanced and modern ways of education; second, modern knowledge should be acquired and updated constantly; third, basic scientific principles and rules should be kept; fourth, we must firmly follow socialism with Chinese characteristics; fifth, superior traditional Chinese culture should be absorbed and developed; and sixth, we are supposed to improve people's basic quality. University education, usually seen as the basis for development of a country, provides an important platform for cultivating future constructers and successors of a country. "Education is fundamental to social development, so is higher education to talents cultivation." (Zhou Tao, 2012)(1) As a result, it is important to create sound atmosphere within a university. Recently, people attach growing importance to internationalization of university education, a significant way to promote university development. However, solid work must be done to realize the current Chinese Dream based on socialism with Chinese characteristics. Therefore, a right and correct concept of inter-nationalization, serving as a sound guide, is regarded as the premise for the internationalization of university education in China.
