Exclusive electroproduction of ρ0 mesons with the ZEUS detector at HERA

Exclusive production of rho(0) mesons has been studied in ep collisions with the ZEUS detector at HERA using an integrated luminosity of 38 pb(-)1. The cross section for gamma*p --> rho(0)p has been measured for center-of-mass energies 32<W<160 GeV and for photon virtualities 5<Q(2)<80 GeV2. The ratio of the production cross sections, R = sigma(L)/sigma(T), for longitudinally (sigma(L)) and transversely (sigma(T)) polarized virtual photons is determined from the angular distribution of the decay products of the rho(0). The Q(2) and W dependence of the total rho(0) production cross section and of R are presented.
