Special Issue on Green Composites

The special issue of the Journal of Reinforced Plastics And Composites, provides information about environmentally friendly composites. These composites are defined as materials, composed wholly or partly of constituents that come from renewable resources. wood fibers and plant fibers,as reinforcements, along with and biodegradable polymers and natural rubber as matrices are included in the category of environmentally friendly, or green composites. These green composites are mainly used for non-critical structural applications such as in automotive, packaging, building and construction industries. This Special Issue has 22 papers, covering different aspects of green composites made of wood, plant fibers and thermoplastic, or thermosetting matrices. The first seven papers are related to wood fiber, or flour-based thermoplastic composites (WPC).
