APF-STATCOM Based on Cascaded H-Bridge Converter

摘要
In this paper the functions of APF and STATCOM are combined in a single unit by controlling a three-phase cascaded H-bridge converter, i.e. APF-STATCOM. This new element can compensate reactive power and suppress harmonic currents in the meantime. This paper introduces the working principle of three-phase cascaded H-bridge APF-STATCOM and puts forward a control strategy. Finally a simulation of 36 cascaded H-bridge APF-STATCOM is carried out in PSCAD/EMTDC. And the effectiveness of control strategy is verified.
