Using multiscale analysis to broaden the dynamic range of color endoscopic images

摘要
This paper discusses the problem of eliminating brightness nonuniformity on color endoscopic images with a large dynamic brightness range and of converting a sequence of such images into one image with a brightness range that can be reproduced on the screen of a standard monitor. A rapid and stable algorithm is proposed that is based on combined multiscale analysis of the images and histogram processing of the images at each level of a pyramidal representation. The efficiency of the algorithm is confirmed by examples and a comparison with known methods. (C) 2013 Optical Society of America.
