摘要
Climate change is considered one of the most pressing issues of our time, and the media have played an important role in shaping public perceptions and policy agendas. Media coverage of climate change has been an area of continued research during the last years. Usually researchers focus on climate change discourse in printed media. However, despite the growing importance of the Internet as a source of news, there are few studies which examine climate change presentation in online media. This paper attempts to contribute to the reduction of lack of data about climate change discourse in online media and identify if climate change is portrayed the same way by printed and online media. The paper reveals that climate change discourse in the newspaper 'Lietuvos Rytas' is more politicized than in the news portal lrytas.lt. Internet media discourse on climate change is more intensive than in printed media, and is more vulnerable to various events that reproduce changes in the discourse order. The collected data show that the symbolic power of speaking in the discourse is attributed to political and academic sectors. The data show that usually climate change is represented under the themes related to political issues.
