摘要
160 m above the Mosel-river the Hochmosel-bridge tests the limits of current engineering standards. The foundations of the pillars on the western side of the Mosel are located in a fossile sliding slope. The slender supports of the bridge are prone to vortex excitation during the construction phase. To stabilize the pillars additional investigations including wind tunnel tests were initiated during the design and construction process leading to aerodynamic, L-shaped spoilers. To meet the deadline for the incremental launching of the superstructure the construction site management optimized the processes including the design of an adaptable jacking formwork.
