摘要
In this study, the structure of the retaining ligaments between the proximal metacarpal bones of the fingers was dl fined. Anatomic dissections were performed on 10 fresh cadavers. Four separate ligaments were found: a dorsal metacarpal ligament, a palmar metacarpal ligament, and 2 interosseous ligaments oriented in a V-shaped configuration. The V-shaped interosseous ligaments were found to be the strongest; along with the palmar and dorsal intermetacarpal ligaments, they form a very strong connection between the bases of the adjacent metacarpals.
