摘要
Efficient use of available resources in next generation wireless systems require control of both data rate and transmitted power for mobile terminals. In this paper the problem of joint transmission rate and power control is approached from the perspective of non-cooperative game theory, and an algorithm for joint rate and power control is presented. A new utility function for mobile terminals is defined, and a detailed analysis of the existence and uniqueness of Nash equilibrium for the non-cooperative joint transmission rate and power control game is presented. The utility function depends on the signal to interference ratio (SIR), and can be adjusted to provide the desired Quality of Service (QoS) requirement. Numerical simulations that compare the proposed algorithm with alternative algorithms developed using game theory are also presented in the paper.
