摘要
Rectal intussusception (RI) may cause intractible obstructed defaecation. Successful management depends on accurate diagnosis and adequate rectopexy. We report 23 consecutive patients with RI. Synchronised mano-myocinedefaecogaphy enabled visualisation of obstructed defaecation to be due to RI, rather than incidental puborectalis paradoxus. A. laparoscopic resection rectopexy technique resulted in >90 % symptomatic relief in 53 % of patients. There was a 4 % wound infection rate. At a mean follow-up of 9.1 months, there were no radiological or clinical recurrences.
