Providing quality assurance to the public

THE role of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in providing quality assurance for the standards of veterinary services provided to the public was highlighted by the outgoing President, Dr Lydia Brown, in her speech to the annual general meeting on July 2. Discussing initiatives taken in this and of her areas during the year, Dr Brown emphasised the importance of effective liaison with of her professions and organisations. She also suggested that thought should be given to extending the term of the RCVS presidency, and to making it a full-time, paid position.
