Filter of optical vortices: highly twisted high-birefringence optical fibers

摘要
Modes and bandgap structure of highly twisted high-birefringence weakly guiding fibers are studied in the scalar approximation. It is shown that within the gap the system can serve as a filter of circular optical vortices. (c) 2006 Optical Society of America.
