An Auto ID-enabled Framework for Manufacturing Information Sharing Systems

摘要
The current research of Auto ID (Automated Identification) boosts the ubiquitous applications in a broad spectrum including manufacturing and supply chain. This paper proposes an information sharing system framework dwelling on the smooth and integral information access of manufacturing information (e.g. product information, design information and sales information etc.), and the whole product lifecycle management of products. Also, Auto ID system provides a method for a product to rapidly retrieve its needed information when it is transmitted through shop floors and supply chains, during which the generated information by Auto ID readers in return can facilitate the ubiquitous scenarios in manufacturing and initial stages of the whole product lifecycle such as its ordering, design and production. Taking advantage of such information enhancement, a corresponding framework AIDMISS (Auto ID-enabled Manufacturing Information Sharing Systems) enabling the manufacturing information sharing process in manufacturing processes across enterprises is suggested. A case study concerning clutch manufacturing scenario is given to show the effectiveness of the proposed framework on the manufacturing enterprise.
