China has experienced a noteworthy phenomenon among migrant farmers characterized by their moving in the form of families since 1990s. It is meaningful to help migrant farmer families integrate into urban life for breaking down the two categories urban-rural system in China, improving urban harmonious development and constructing socialism new rural area. When integrating into urban life, migrant farmer families, without high academic records, professional skills or social security, are frequently confronted with impact of various risks, whose living condition would be dreadful. This paper defines migrant farmer families' labor market risks, health risks, welfare and social risks, together with their risk management strategies from sampling investigation in Wenzhou Zhejiang, China. It is concluded that migrant farmer families cope with risks mainly by informal mechanism, such as deposits or loans when the formal institution of risk avoiding is not so effective.
