摘要
The development of a city is in accordance with the complexity level of problems. It is necessary to make the planning for a new capital and it is also important to anticipate any possible problems that may happen in the future. A smart city is one of the solutions to apply in developing the new capital of Indonesia that is planned to be located in East Kalimantan. This paper contains literature review in providing the descriptions related to the concept and definition of smart city, the implementation of smart city in Indonesia and other countries, and the argument discussion on the need for developing elements of smart city in the preparation of the New Capital of Indonesia.
