摘要
Multi-Area reliability evaluation is generally performed using equivalent tie lines between areas wherein the constraints of intra-area transmission lines are only indirectly considered during the calculation of equivalent tie line capacities. This approach gives approximate results for the reliability indices as it models each area as a single node to which are connected the area generation and load. A methodology called Composite System based Multi-Area Reliability Model, is proposed to evaluate the reliability of interconnected power systems to perform multi-area reliability evaluation considering the entire composite system in detail. It can simultaneously use the typical load loss sharing policy within the areas and no-loss sharing policy between the areas for the interconnected system model. The bus generation, loads and transmission lines can be modeled in greater detail in this framework. This comprehensive method can model the transmission system more accurately when compared with the methods using single-node area representation and equivalent tie lines between areas.
