Nematicons deflection through interaction with disclination lines in chiral nematic liquid crystals

摘要
In this work, we study experimentally the interaction of spatial optical soliton in chiral nematic liquid crystals with disclination line created in a wedge shaped cell. We show that in most cases the self-confined beam preserves this interaction. We demonstrate that this interaction can be employed for efficient bending of the soliton trajectory, as a result of reflection and refraction. (C) 2013 AIP Publishing LLC.
