摘要
The present paper discusses the design, modeling, and analysis of a dual rotor axial flux induction motor (DRAFIM) with two separate stator windings. The designed motor consists of a stator core with two overlap windings, which is sandwiched between two squirrel cage rotors. The two possible topologies (NN and NS) of DRAFIM has been discussed and analyzed with series and parallel connections of the stator windings. The steady-state characteristic of the motor has been analyzed using the electrical equivalent circuit. The dynamic characteristics are obtained using the machine model in the natural reference frame. The proposed DRAFIM is, also compared with the single-sided axial flux induction motor (SSAFIM) for the same rating. The significant performance improvement is achieved in the DRAFIM as compared to SSAFIM.
