Regulatory and management issues in prepared bed land treatment: Libby groundwater site

摘要：
Prepared bed land treatment has been used to treat creosote and pentachlorophenol contaminated soil at the Libby Groundwater Site since 1989. Since the initiation of treatment, several changes in the remedial standards applied to the site have been approved. Changes in management of the treatment process have also been implemented or investigated. Effects of regulatory and management changes are discussed with respect to their impact or potential impact on treatment time and site closure. Results are applicable to the continued management of the Libby site and to other sites using prepared bed land treatment to treat wood-preservative contaminated soils.
