The effect of anisotropy of turbulence of a laser-active medium on divergence of radiation

摘要
We have considered the case of a plane wave incident on to a slab of flowing gas that is slightly anisotropically turbulent. The effect of turbulence is manifested by fluctuations in the index of refraction, which causes probing light refraction. R. m. s. of the 2D fluctuations of light deflection angles is analysed and expressed in. terms of r. m. s. df the 3D fluctuations of the refraction index.-The possibilities of using a new diagnostic technique - speckle-photography - in the studies of 3D turbulent flows are analyzed. It is shown that statistical characteristics of 3D turbulent flow correlate with statistical characteristics of the 2D field of refractive indexes' of light that passed through the flow. The sensitivity range of the speckle-photography proved to be quite enough for recording temperature fluctuations.
