摘要
An Al-1.5%wt.Mg alloy was subjected to severe plastic deformation (SPD) by Equal Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP) at room temperature to a total strain of approximate to 6 that resulted in a submicronic grain size. Strain rate-change tests at temperatures between 463 and 523K and strain rates between 1.68x10(-3)s(-1) and 8.4x10(-5)s(-1) are carried out to determine the hest elongation to failure that material shown. We are interested in a maximum elongation to failure as effect of SPD and Thermal stability of the induced structure, without presence of secondary phase due to special alloying elements. The results show that ECAP is an effective procedure for achieving grain refinement and good ductility at elevated temperature.
