7-Substituted indoles were synthesized by the basic cyclization of 6-substituted tert-butyl 2-(trimethylsilylethynyl)phenylcarbamate which were derived by the lithiation of tert-butyl 2-(trimethylsilylethynyl)phenylcarbamate and the subsequent reaction with electrophiles.
