Designs and magic simulations from a x-band coaxial relativistic backward wave oscillator

摘要
A high-power x-band coaxial relativistic backward wave oscillator has been conceptually designed and analyzed. The dispersions of the high frequency structure used in the device was calculated. MAGIC,an electron-magnetic particle-in-cell code,is being used to investigated the nonlinear beam-wave interaction and other design optimization issues. Preliminary Simulation results shows that the BWO can generate 1. 2 GW peak power microwave at 11. 8GHz in the TM02 mode driven by a 450-KV 20-KA electron beam.
