摘要
This paper addresses major risks and challenges for information security which will especially result from current and ongoing innovations in ICT. These innovations are primarily caused by rapid technological and technical advances of computer and communication hardware which enable permanently new (software- and firmware-implemented) services and applications. The drastically increasing miniaturization and integration of digital components on silicon, and the permanent advances of digital communication media and techniques will lead us into the era of "Ambient Intelligence", which means the era of invisible, pervasive and ubiquitous computing and communication. Besides a lot of benefits, this era of a global, digitized "information and knowledge society" will also open new risks and challenges with respect to information security. In this regard, this paper summarizes some major trends for realization of future digital computer and communication components, structures and principles, and resulting new challenges for data and information security. At first, in Section 2, major technological and technical trends will be summarized which form the basis for the implementation of new computing paradigms, concepts and structures discussed in Section 3. In Section 4, new evolving services and application scenarios of ubiquitous computing and communication will be considered, especially focusing on security relevant issues. The final summary lists some major research actions which should be taken to decrease risks for information security in the new approaching digital era of invisible, ubiquitous computing.
