We present a scheme to implement the coherent-state qubit SWAP gate. The scheme uses an atomic ensemble consisting of a three-level atom large detuning interacting with a two-mode field. Both situations, with and without cavity decay, are considered. We discuss the advantages and the experimental feasibility of our scheme.
