Synthesis of magnetic glass-ceramics in the system SrO-Fe2O3-Al2O3-B2O3

摘要
Samples of magnetic glass-ceramics were obtained in the system SrO-Fe2O3-Al2O3-B2O3 by heat treatment of initial oxide glasses at 600-900 degrees C. The hexaferrite particles obtained in the glass-ceramics demonstrated hexagonal platelet shape. Samples of the glass-ceramics were characterized by maximal values of the coercive forces of 6600, 7300, and 7700 Oe depending on the chemical composition, which were higher than obtained in the past for the SrFe12O19 based glass-ceramics. Increasing the coercive force apparently connected with substitution of iron by aluminum in hexaferrite. (C) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
