OLED smart phones are now catching the attention of the global consumer as the industry is rapidly expanding. Fabulous early entry OLED TVs have been demonstrated with truly spectacular visual quality. While the initial focus of OLED development has been for flat panel display applications, through the use of RGB phosphorescent OLEDs, energy efficient solid state lighting is now also being realized. Here, we will review the rapid progress in PHOLED over the past couple of years and highlight newest material and panel results for white lighting applications. For example we will detail a 15 cm x 15 cm all-phosphorescent white OLED light panels: one with record high efficacy of 62 lm/W and LT70 panel lifetime of 18,000 hours and a second example of record lifetime of 30,000 hours and 58 lm/W
