Effects of microstructure characterization of SHS TiC reinforced Fe composite coating

摘要
The titanium powder and graphite powder were used to produce TiC ingot by self-propagating high temperature synthesis, and then TiC ingot was broken and screening to obtain TiC particles as a hard phase of the coating. The TiC/Fe composite coating consisting of SHS titanium carbide and cast iron was prepared by Vacuum cladding process. The microstructure of the coating and TiC particles were investigated by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffractometer (XRD), Energy spectrum analysis system(EDS). Experimental results showed that the black phase was the TiC and gray phase was the matrix in the microstructure of the coating, and the TiC particles uniformly distributed in composite coating. The composite coating and the master-steel has good interfacial boning, which is good for abrasion. (C) 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
